Sports Planet began its services in November 2002, responding to a need for good futsal venues, services and facilities in Malaysia. Sports Planet (Subang Jaya) was our first outlet.

As the number of futsal enthusiasts grew, so did our determination to continuously offer the Ultimate Futsal Experience via specific emphasis on facilities & services at an affordable price, as well as the experience one takes home after every futsal game.

Within 1 year, Sports Planet saw the opening of 4 additional venues at Sunway, Shah Alam, Ampang and Alor Star consecutively. The opening of Sports Planet (Subang Grand) in Sunway marked a significant milestone in the industry becoming the single largest indoor soccer venue in Malaysia with 11 futsal pitches in a 100,000 square feet arena, as officially recognized by the Malaysian Book of Records.

August 2004 also marked a significant landmark in this history Sports Planet. Sports Planet was officially registered as a Franchisor with the Registrar of Franchises under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development (Kementrian Pembangunan Usahawan). Within only 2 years of being a franchisor, Sports Planet was recognized by the franchise industry by the winning of 2 prestigious awards in the Franchise Award Night 2006 organized by the Malaysia Franchise Association (MFA).
